Sonya Egert

Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Car

Sonya Egert is Noonuccal Goenpul woman from Minjerribah (Nth Stradbroke Island) and lives in Inala, QLD. Sonya is an early career researcher at the Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care. She coordinates the Inala Community Jury for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research, which is the community governing body for health research done at the service and works on a number of different research projects, all aimed at improving the delivery of primary health care for her mob. Sonya is dedicated to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through culturally appropriate research and practice.
