Athira Rohit

Menzies School of Health Research

Athira completed her PhD in Optometry from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Prior to her PhD, she was actively involved in community eye care programs in India. Her research skills and international cross-cultural experience have led her to join Menzies School of Health Research in 2015 in the Wellbeing and Preventable and Chronic Diseases Division. She has undertaken research to strenghthen early child feeding practices to reduce the risk of later life overweight and obesity among Aboriginal and Torres Strailt Islander children. Currently she is involved in a research project that informs the adaptation of a diabetes prevention program for young Aboriginal and Torres Strailt Islanders.
