Karen Ingram

Karen has been active in health promotion and community development for over fifteen years and is an advocate for social justice and the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Strength-based approaches through participation, empowerment and the arts inspire her to do her best. She has been proactive in the development and implementation of four Reconciliation Action Plans and is committed in her solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

As Prevention Coordinator at cohealth, Karen leads a team committed to the prevention of race-based discrimination and violence against women through initiatives that promote racial and gender equity.

Karen acknowledges the Awabakal and Worimi peoples as traditional custodians of the land and waters which grew her. She is privileged to choose the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung peoples to live, work, play and grow her family and respectfully acknowledges Elders past, present and emerging.  

In her spare time Karen is a civil celebrant, writer and performer.
